Three Parties March on Fourth Day of Election Campaign

PHNOM PENH: The National Election Committee (NEC) announced that the fourth day of the election campaign season ran smoothly, safely, and orderly for each political party with no reports of violence.

On July 4, three political parties led parades through the streets. Among them, were the Khmer United National Party in Battambang, FUNCINPEC in Pursat and the Cambodian Nationality Party in Kandal province.

Although the campaign marches were not as crowded as on the first day, each party campaigned in other ways, hosting rallies, concerts, and screenings of videos and slideshows detailing policies. Megaphone broadcasts could be heard at party headquarters and from mobile convoys where supporters distributed leaflets.

Eighteen parties are on the ballot for the 7th National Assembly election on July 23. Until then, campaign season runs from July 1 to July 21.
